Note: Mildura is a city of 40,000 people, situated on the border of Victoria and New South Wales States in Australia.
Prophetic word in Mildura November 29th, 2005
Mildura is something of a marvel. Situated in the remote west of Victoria, it is in the "outback" arid zone of Australia, right near the desert. As a result of irrigation techniques, they have been able to build "Sunraysia", a lush oasis of fertile agriculture. However, as a result of the drought, and use of water as far north as Queensland, the water levels are dangerously low. During a ministry time in the region I received this word:
1. A flood on dry ground
"As unlikely as it seems, there is going to be a flood. This city stands at the confluence of two rivers (the Murray and the Darling), and there will be a flood. Right up to the levy banks, to cleanse and wash the river, to bring her life. Prepare, prepare now!"
2. A plague caused by mosquitoes
I also saw water lying on the ground, and in the fields, and round the houses. I saw a multitude of mosquitoes, too many to number. They were on the animals: chickens, sheep, cattle. They were drawing blood, cross pollinating, hibernating sickness. The word "Plague" came very clearly to mind. I believe a plague is getting ready to break forth from the result of mosquitoes.
This reminded me of a time when Ross River fever was making it's way down from the north. At the time I lived in Sydney, and the fever had made it's way to Coffs Harbour. The Sydney Council went to great lengths to reduce the population of mosquitoes in our area, and my understanding is that this disaster was averted.
Conclusion
We still have time - to prepare for a flood. We can ensure the levy banks are in order, we can prepare the house boats for mooring or dry dock.
We still have time to pray and prepare against the plague. It can be avoided through careful prayer and also human planning, just as Egypt prepared for drought.
