    by Colin White

Colin is an art teacher in a Canberra High School. He and some of his students attended a weekend workshop on the prophetic in June, 2011 along with members of six churches.

highschool_blindThanks for the fabulous weekend time. It's been really cool to see the community grow more and more in the prophetic. I wanted to share some cool stuff that came out of last Saturday's training day. I had two students prophesy to me with regards to work and personally, and in the blind prophecy what/how Jesus is wanting to use me. The Holy Spirit wasn't just giving me verbal words, but his word being spoken over me were changing me. I have felt like a brand new Colin, because of the power and presence of the Lord in and through the prophetic words he spoke to me. It was, or felt like, the same type of thing where the bible talks about the universe being created, and sustained, from God's word.

The prophetic words spoken, even by the most unsure or unconfident, carried his presence and power and these words were not just words, but carried the authority of heaven. And again it reminds me of how king Saul, even after he had gone astray, when he came across a group of prophets prophesying, was swept up to the point where he began to prophesy and people said "huh? Is Saul a prophet now too?" I love it!

I've often viewed training days as places where we learn to function in the prophetic or where we 'activate'. However I realised (though I've seen, felt and experienced this before) that within these types of sessions the Holy Spirit is being given space to physically & powerfully minister to people through the release of spoken prophetic. That what is happeneing is not just people being trained, but the Holy Spirit is actively ministering. Simply put, it's not just us learning to prophesy. As the nature of prophesying is also Jesus changing and effecting; people, place/world and atmosphere, he does this too through the training days. So it is also a powerful time of the Holy Spirit ministering and changing peolple. Just like 'there is no baby Holy Spirit' for young people, there is also no baby training in the prophetic. The word is the word, and it has power to empower and change lives. Thanks again.
